Motiv Black Venom
The Motiv Venom bowling ball line continues with the bold Black Venom mid-performance bowling ball. This ball takes the Leverage coverstock from the Jackal Ambush and modifies it to maximize performance when bowling on light to medium oil conditions. The Leverage MFS Solid Reactive coverstock is paired with the Gear APG weight block to create an earlier and more powerful reaction. The Black Venom was designed to have more reaction, more traction, and a smoother motion than the Venom Shock. The Gear APG core is asymmetric with a low RG and low differential offering a variety of drilling possibilities.

Smooth and Controllable: Motiv Black Venom Bowling Ball Review
The Motiv Black Venom is a standout bowling ball in the renowned Venom line, and it has quickly become one of my favorites alongside the Venom Shock. This ball offers a level of smoothness and control that is truly impressive.
From the moment I released the Black Venom, I could feel the clean, controlled motion as it effortlessly glided through the oil pattern. Its core and coverstock combination create a perfect harmony, resulting in a smooth transition through the backend and a consistent, predictable reaction.
What sets the Black Venom apart is its exceptional control. It allows bowlers to dictate their shots with precision, making it an excellent choice for players who prefer a controlled, calculated approach. Whether you're a stroker, tweener, or cranker, the Black Venom adapts effortlessly to different styles, offering versatility without compromising control.
Having thrown various balls from the Venom line, the Black Venom has earned its place among the best. While it shares similarities with the Venom Shock, it provides a slightly stronger and more aggressive backend reaction, leading to improved pin carry and increased hitting power.
In summary, if you're looking for a bowling ball that offers smoothness, control, and versatility, the Motiv Black Venom is a fantastic option. It delivers a clean, predictable roll on different oil conditions and is suitable for bowlers of all skill levels. With the Black Venom in your arsenal, you'll feel confident and in control as you conquer the lanes.

VENOM IN BLACK - UH YES PLEASE
The releases seem to get better every time and this one is no exception. Everyone loves a black bowling ball and this one doesn't disappoint. The Leverage cover stock of the Ambush paired with the tried and true Gear core makes this one a must have for all. For me the piece fit well in between the OG shock and my new Primal Shock. A great piece for when the lanes first transition and an incredible league ball as well. you will be amazed at its versatility and consistency in reaction. Get one now you wont be disappointed.

Absolute predictability.
The Venom Recoil and Blue Coral Venom have been absolute staples in the MOTIV line for predictable shapes, one just being earlier and round, and the other being cleaner and boomier downlane. Since the Recoil has been discontinued, we have absolutely been missing that earlier and round alternative shape to the Venom Shock. Well the Black Venom absolutely fills that spot, and more. The Black Venom takes what the Recoil did great, and takes it to the next level. The new Leverage series of coverstock allows the Black Venom to dig just as hard as the Recoil but shape more overall increasing the balls versatility. Having a ball in the line that not only is predictable but also has tons of hook potential is fantastic and opens the door for any and every type of player to capitalize on this amazing piece. Hello Super Dave, if your driller has instructed you to request a specific pin length or top weight you may enter that in for us to check for, otherwise we will send the best available.

Question:
If I'm a straight bowler, but want the ability to hook with the same ball, would this be a good choice or will this ball hook anyway?
Have an answer to this question?
Answer:
Hi Beaux, the Motiv Black Venom is a great mid performance ball that has a medium hook potential, so you could progress with this ball but it would not have the same straight reaction as an entry level or plastic/spare ball would.

Question:
I’m a novice bowler and this would be my first own ball. Is this a good choice and how do I have it drilled. I find my fingers are too big for most of the stock balls at the bowling alley.
Have an answer to this question?
Answer:
Hi Jocko, the Motiv Black Venom is a mid performance ball for light to medium oil lane conditions and reacts early on the lanes with a continuous hook. If you are looking for something more versatile, I would suggest a pearl or hybrid coverstock with more length such as the Motiv Fatal Venom. Both balls require custom drilling, so if you do not have you measurements and drill pattern you would need to have the ball drilled locally so a driller could fit you.

Question:
I currently have a Venom Shock and have a Blue Coral Venom on the way with a Primal shock in the closet waiting to be drilled. Where would this Black Venom fit my line up?
Have an answer to this question?
Answer:
Hello Christopher! The Motiv Black Venom will have more reaction, more traction, and a smoother motion than the Venom Shock. It would be a good option to use after the Motiv Primal Shock once the lanes start to break down a bit.

Question:
I'm a 72 yo lefty, 12mph. Looking for something between my Pitch Black and Phase 2. Hoping to find a ball as controllable as PB, with a bit more hitting power.Would this be my best Radical option?
Have an answer to this question?
Answer:
This ball will fit between the PB and Phaze 2 in terms of performance and hook potential. It has a stronger hook than the Pitch Black but it will go a little longer on the lanes than the PB. It is still very controllable with the solid reactive coverstock and 4000 grit finish. If you feel that this ball is a little closer to the PB and wanted it to be a little closer to the Phaze 2 instead you could adjust the coverstock down to a 2000 grit or 3000 grit and it will read a little earlier and handle a little more oil but you may like it out of the box as a good fit.
