Answer:

Hey Reedy! While these balls will have a similar reaction, the Roto Grip Optimum Idol will be a bit more aggressive with a higher hook potential.

Question:

I have done well with the idol helios for nationals, how do these compare?

3/5/2024 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

This ball will have some options that are similar in that both have a solid reactive coverstock with a 2000 grit finish out of the box. So this will read the midlane well and have a smooth continuation on the backend. The Optimum Idol weight block will help this read slightly earlier and have slightly stronger flare (hook) potential.

Question:

How would this ball compare to the black widow 2.0 hybrid?

4/24/2024 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

The Optimum Idol will have a duller finish and solid coverstock which will read earlier in the mid lane and give the ball a smoother arcing hook while the Widow 2.0 Hybrid is designed to give you more length for a sharper backend reaction.

Question:

Is this ball similar to the Eternity PI?

5/7/2024 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

There are some similarities in that both bowling balls have a solid reactive coverstock and both come out of the box with a 2000 grit dull finish so this will help them read in the mid lane with a strong arcing hook. The Optimum Idol has a very strong symmetric weight block compared to the asymmetric weight block in the Eternity Pi. The Optimum Idol however will have a slightly lower hook potential making it work better in medium to heavy oil and fall more in the upper mid performance category while the Eternity Pi is listed for heavy oil only and is a high performance ball..

Answer:

Just to clarify, this questions is not pertaining to this ball which is the Optimum Idol. I am comparing the Optimum Cosmos to the Optimum Idol Pearl which are both different from this ball. The Optimum Cosmos and the Optimum Idol Pearl both had pearl coverstocks and both were upper mid performance balls for medium to heavy oil conditions. The Optimum Pearl is the newer of the two and it had changes made to the weight block that helped it start to read a little earlier and give it a higher flare potential. However, the Optimum Idol Pearl has a smoother polished finish than the Cosmos (4000 grit) so that will give it more length making them pretty even on length but still give the Optimum Idol Pearl a hook advantage.
