Pros:
- good for beginner, - not a dramatic hook, - good for figuring out the game

- not a dramatic hook, - seems like a spare ball sometimes until it isn’t
Bottom Line:

Tropical Surge for a beginner
Figuring out the game, beginner in my mid 30s. This ball has a mild hook to it which has been nice to figure out ball speed, rev rate and the mechanics of my throw. When I play this ball on drier lanes it definitely has a more dramatic hook to it which is fun and I can play across the lane to get at the pocket. When I play on more oily lanes, I do best stroking it. For my next ball I’ll probably go with a high performance with a more dramatic hook to experience what that’s like. I keep the ball in my car trunk and end up being coerced to the lanes more often because of the smell of it. I don’t mind the grape smell, reminds me of cheap car freshener which for some reason gives me nostalgic good vibes.

Cons:
Chunk came out after 15 Frames :(
Best Uses:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Disappointed
Purchased ball in April got it drilled today June 1, was very much looking forward to using it and changing my style. I am highly disappointed that after 15 frames a nice sized chunk came out of my ball. So disappointed to have a new ball already it is damaged. While I understand equipment and such can cause issues at an alley, Still 15 frames the quality should hold up.

How and where do you get the holes drilled
Have an answer to this question?
Answer:
We offer a basic drilling option for $14.95 if you want us to do the drilling or you can check your local bowling center to see if there is a proshop locally that could measure and drill the ball for you after it arrives.

Question:
I need to know if you have this Reactor Pearl Coverstock in 10 Pond.
Have an answer to this question?
Answer:
Yes, this bowling ball is available in 10lbs and it would have the same coverstock in that weight. The weight block inside does change to a pancake type weight block in the lower weights though.

Question:
What is the difference between Surge Pearl and the Surge Hybird 11 lb ball
Have an answer to this question?
Answer:
The only difference is the coverstocks. The Pearl coverstock will give you slightly more length than the Hybrid coverstock but it is a very small difference.

How do I know what size to have it drilled?

Question:
Would this be a good ball for a high rev player that throw 11-13 mph? I have a high rev rate and throw pretty slow. The balls I have hook to much and I need something that won’t hook much.
Have an answer to this question?
Answer:
If you are a rev dominant bowler, you may have to think of each bowling ball as reacting stronger than the numbers or details may indicate. For example, this ball is rated for medium to light oil conditions for an average bowler. If you were speed dominant I would say to use this mostly in lighter conditions but since you are rev dominant this would work best in medium oil for you. This is also rated as an entry performance ball for an average bowler but for a rev dominant bowler this will react closer to a mid performance ball specs. So this could be a good fit for you if the lanes are mostly medium oil.
